Tubarere Nursery School
In January 2017, Children Might Foundation opened the Tubarere Nursery School with 30 pupils between the ages of 3 and 6 who attend from 8:30am to 12pm. The children are given porridge and sweet bread for breakfast before the learning activities start.
We believe that the early years of a child's life are fundamental in laying down the foundations for their future. We aim to expand every year to meet the needs of the local community in the Muhazi Sector, Rwamagana District. Our school team are qualified, enthusiastic and passionate about finding the best methods to help each child to make the best possible progress in their learning.

Thanks to generous donors, the school now has 5 classrooms (with another under construction), as well as a kitchen, dining area, office and toilet block. We are so grateful to individual donors as well as school and church groups who have supported this project - Ballycrochan Presbyterian Church in Northern Ireland, Greenock Celtic Supporters Club in Scotland, Level 8 Projects in Scotland, Cedars School of Excellence in Greenock, Scotland and Alexander, a former volunteer from Love Volunteers.
We plan to extend the nursery into a primary school as the children grow and these extra classrooms mean that in January, we will be able to open a Primary 1 class.

School Education
The charity ensures that each child has a school uniform, shoes and school materials. In addition, we regularly visit the children at home and school to provide support and check progress. We also run a homework club every weekend ad during the holidays to help the children with English and Maths and other subjects they are struggling in, as well as having a time playing sport and singing.
We would like to thank Unity of Children for supporting the homework club. This gives the children the chance to improve their results by working in small groups and going through anything they are having difficulty with in class. |
